Absentmindedness, forgetfulness and being accident prone are all frequently experienced after a loss. You’re unbalanced, like walking into a room and forgetting why you went there – except that after your loss it happens more frequently.
It may seem that life is too slow and that it’s an effort to even hold up your head. Your speech may seem slowed and your legs may feel heavy. All of this can be frightening but its all part of the process of grieving and healing. The body will slow its motions down to provide energy to heal its hurting heart.
It’s okay to go slow so be easy with yourself. You are healing and will make some mistakes, let it go and don’t push yourself.
