Five Year Anniversary of “The Sisterhood of Widows”

Today I had to fill out my renewal for my Certificate for Business as it was only good for five years. It seems amazing to me that five years ago I registered “The Sisterhood of Widows” with no knowledge but I had a passion for helping others.

I had to learn Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin and many other social media sites. I got my website up and soon started a couple of blogs, doing workshops, writing articles and became a Certified Law of Attraction Facilitator and Certified Grief Recovery Specialist.

I’m here to tell you that if anyone had said that I would accomplish all this five years ago I would have panicked. It is a good thing that I could not see five years into the future because it would have scared me so much that I would probably have not taken the first step.

One step at a time was what I kept saying to myself. Just register the Business – step one. It was confusing paperwork (government always is) but I got it done. Then I got a website and learned about social media – one step at a time.

What I’ve learned is that I don’t have to do it all at once, I just have to do one step at a time. As long as I’m taking that one step than I’m moving forward on my journey. Not as I had planned as a wife but as God had planned as a widow.

I don’t know where I will be five years from now but I’m no longer scared of what the possibilities are. Bring it on – I’m ready to enjoy this journey and I hope that all the widows reading this are too. You can do anything you want if you have enough passion for it – just take one step at a time and then the rest will take care of itself.
