Every widow needs time to grieve, and your broken heart will heal. I know that’s easier said than done, but you are the one that controls this crazy journey.
Don’t curl up into a fetal position and drop out of your own life. Make no mistake, no one can get you back on track except you.
Begin by acknowledging your loss and grief. But be willing to feel again and share your life with those that care about you.
More important, be a good person to yourself. Be willing to take risks, try new things and meet new people. Move forward, one step at a time, at your pace, not others.
Knowing something intellectually and accepting it emotionally are two very different things. That is why we need our grieving time. It bridges over our life as a “wife” to our life as a “widow”.
Take all the time you need to heal and don’t let others rush you.
