Even As a Widow – I Am Enough

It may sound unreal that a widow could have joyful energy, but we widows aren’t meant to be grieving forever.  In time our broken hearts heal and if we want we can find the joyful energy that we so need in our lives.

For myself, I find praying helps to relieve the pressures I feel.  It takes me out of whatever problems I’m facing and gives me instant peace.  I believe guardian angels are protecting and guiding me – even though I may not always be aware of them.  For others meditation gives them the joyful energy that they are seeking.

I find energy in taking action and recently I’ve found a renewed energy by taking line dancing with other ladies. The time flies by, it burns a ton of calories and it brings me so much joy that I don’t even feel like I’m exercising.

As widows we all experience insecurities, heartbreak and feelings of unworthiness.  We have to overcome our fears and self-doubt and I think we need to start really appreciating what we still have and to repeat over and over again, “I am Enough”.

When we refocus on the things that bring us joy, we will find that “we are enough” and that we don’t need others to make us feel worthy or loved.  Of course, we all want that, but even without our husbands we are still enough.  We are important, we are blessed, we have value, we are enough!!

I find reading and doing some type of exercises helps me relax and bring me some joy. wed will only be the 9th month since my loss so I am slowly making my way back into reality. my cats and my dog also bring me some joy (when they are not misbehaving that is). some days I feel as if I have been abandoned when he left me but I know this is not true. I often times still have very painful crying moments, but they are what is now called my rainbow days. as God gives us a rainbow after the rain I have a rainbow day after my tears. thank you, Mary Francis, for all you do for us. you also bring joy into my life with your support.
