As widows we need to have our grieving time, but there will come a time when we are faced with two distinct choices about what we will do with our lives.
The first choice we can make is to be less than we have the capacity to be. To have less, read less, think less, avoid doing more and so to settle for an empty life.
The second choice is to do it all. To become all that we can possibly be. To read every book that we possibly can. To give and share as much as we possibly can. To strive and accomplish as much as we possibly can.
We all have the choice to do or not to do. To be all we can be or to settle for less. Why not do all that you can, every moment that you can, for as long as you can? You don’t have to be perfect, you just need to strive for more today than yesterday.
There is very little difference between someone who cannot read and someone who chooses not to read – both slow their learning. Those who wish for a better future, must choose to be all that they can be. Every time we choose action over ease, we develop an increasing level of self-worth, self-respect and self-confidence. In the end, it is how we feel about ourselves that provides the greatest reward for our choices made.
Any day we wish we can make a change. Any day we wish we can read a positive book. Any day we wish, we can start a new activity. We can do it immediately, next week, next month or next year.
Or we can do nothing. If the idea of change makes you uncomfortable, you can remain as you are. The choices are yours to make.
You have the ability to totally transform every area in your life and it all begins with your very own power of choice. Is it easy? – No. But that still doesn’t change the fact that there are two choices to make.
