It is Your Future

It is your future and a widow shouldn’t be satisfied with a small future when she is capable of enjoying so much more.

Success in your future is about becoming what you want to be.  You can become what you want to be only by making use of the skills and knowledge you have or can get.  No widow can find happiness until her future is balanced with a healthy body, peace of mind and a reason for living (friends, family, and purpose).

Being happy is not a matter of environment, for if it were then all people in certain neighborhoods would be happy, while in other towns they would be unhappy.  But everywhere we see happy and unhappy living side by side, in the same environment.  Therefore, your future can be molded by your actions and thoughts, and it is not a matter of environment.

It is your future and you have to acquire the ability to think positivity if you want to create a future, instead of just existing.   Widows need to go after what they want and they can help others by making the most of themselves.  So, for your future, do not hesitate to ask for what you need.

Action Step:  Find your passion and you will find your future.

  • What is it that you’ve always been good at?
  • What is it that you do just because you enjoy it?
  • What would you do if money did not matter?

Widows owe it to themselves to answer these questions, explore these ideas and create a future that brings them happiness.  Sure there is room for healthy doubt because you can’t believe everything, but you also can’t let doubt take over.  Many widows doubt their future, doubt their possibilities and doubt any opportunities that come their way.

Worse of all, they doubt themselves.  I’m here to tell you that doubt will destroy your life and your chance for happiness.  Doubt is your enemy.  Question it, make it come out into the light and get rid of it.

Of all the things that can have an effect on your future, I believe personal growth is our greatest need.  We talk about healing our broken hearts, but it probably will not happen without personal growth.  In fact I want you to memorize this very important phrase, “The major key to a better future is ME”.

This major key will help you cast aside doubt, because the real difference is first created inside of you.  Put that phrase someplace where you can see and read it every morning and night.  Remember you are the major key to your better future – it is your future, so own it.

OMG! This is where I am today. I cannot find my path or my purpose and am scared my future is small and confined. I am 2.5yrs into widowhood and feel ready for a new life – but also feel like it will need to be big changes, more specifically a move for personal and financial reasons and that is unnerving because it is so overwhelming. Where do I move, into what, how do I live the life I want to live, am I too old to do that? Am I just destined to live alone with no social life or purpose because I lost my partner of 30 years who really was the engine to our train? I will print this post out and read it over and over – thank you. I know I need to put steam into MY engine – and get a life.
