Imagine being old and you look back at all the things you thought about doing but never did.
How you never took that road trip with a good friend.
How you never took a sunny day off work just to walk in the cool shade of the forest.
How you never went swimming after you gained weight.
How as you aged, you worried over those new wrinkles and yet ten years later you look back at those pictures and think how great you looked.
How you rarely laughed because you didn’t have perfect teeth or as you aged they weren’t white enough.
How you didn’t get down and dirty to play with your grandchildren and now you can’t, even if you wanted to.
How you focused on material things, and not on relationships. So friendships are not very plentiful.
How you were too fearful or critical of what would happen if you tried something new, and now you’re old and just getting out of bed is a challenge.
As a widow you know how short life can be. Don’t get to the point where there is no going back and you have regrets because you let life happen without you.
Live now, as you are. Today you are enough, try everything you can. Imagine being old. Now you’re with old friends who will smile with you as they share your memories.

What a great reminder to do it now because you may not get another chance. Thank you.
