A Widow and Her Dream Crushers

Often, without even realizing it, our friends and families make us feel powerless to change. We are met with comments like “you can’t do that” or “you can’t afford that” or “you’re too old, young etc.”

They may be well –intended and only want to help us by preventing us from getting hurt or failing, but they are actually undermining our self-esteem and fanning the flame of our own fears.

Be careful about sharing your dream, especially in the beginning. Instead see yourself vividly taking some action steps towards your dream. Work at positive affirmations and self-talk as if you had already accomplished your dream. Your subconscious mind doesn’t know the difference between real and imaginary, so visualize yourself being successful.

Expect, affirm and visualize what you want your future to look like. As a widow your old dreams of a future shared with your loved one is gone, so now it’s up to you to create a new dream. Big or small, don’t let others or even your own fears hold you back.

Whatever your story, trust that you can change your circumstances. It all begins with you.
