When you reach that point of acceptance, you will no longer be waiting for some far-off day when you’ll finally be happy. Instead you will be looking to carve some contentment out of your present situation.
Remember, this will take time. I’m not trying to push you into acceptance if you haven’t fully finished your grief journey. But acceptance is where you are headed and something to strive for.
I’ve talked to widows who took years to get there and others that accepted and moved forward within their first year – either way it's ok because everyone has their our own grief journey.
