The main purpose of this post is to motivate and support widows. The challenges of grief when death happens in our families is common to most widows. These grieving challenges are not reserved for the poor, the uneducated or the mentally weak.
In the final analysis, it is not what happens that determines the quality of our lives as much as what we choose to do with the blowing winds of our grief, despair, loneliness and heartbreak. How quickly and responsibly we react to these challenges is important to our healing hearts.Life is still worthwhile if we acknowledge the following:
Life is worthwhile if you continue to learn. What you don’t know will hurt you. You have to learn to exist on your own and you learn this from your own experiences, both negative and positive. Learn from every source – lectures, music, sermons, books, conversations and positive people. Life is worthwhile if you try. Try to make a difference, try to change, and try to learn a new skill or habit. There are a lot of things you can do, if you just try.Life is worthwhile if you care. If you care at all your life will get some results, but if you care enough you can get incredible results. Care enough to make a difference, to turn someone around, to start a new business, to set some records, to care enough to live your life to the fullest is a gift you give yourself.
Three powerful words are: learn, try and care. What a difference it will make in your life if you put those three words to work for you. We build up our character with every choice we make. These choices gradually turn who we are today into who we want to be in the future. If you are sincerely committed to making yourself into the person you want to be, you will create the qualities you need to nuture yourself when you are tested and challenged by your grief. Please request my free downloadable Guide: Grieving to Healing https://sisterhoodofwidows.com/a-guide-on-grieving-to-healing/
