By far the most popular thought is that "time heals all wounds." While this may be partially true, it's important to understand that not everyone heals at the same pace.
There could be ten people who have lost a spouse or child and yet each of them would handle their grief in their own way and in their own time.
Why is it that some people are able to handle their grief, while others go into a deep depression that will inhibit and immobilize their lives?
When we think about something, whether it be positive or negative, our thought will bring whatever it is we are thinking about to life. So, if you are always thinking about the death and grief instead of the good memories - than death and grief is what will be with you.
We need to grieve - than we need to start enjoying all the good memories. This will take time but to heal we have to be open to it.
